Investigation And Evaluation On Oil Cultivars Resources Of Paeonia Rockii In Gansu Province

Paeonia [Paeonia rockii(SG Haw et LA Lauener)] belonged to Paeoniaceae Paeonia Moutan, was the second cultivar group after central plains tree peony, most of them were in Dingxi, Lintao, Linxia and Lanzhou.It had single flower and numerous species, high seeding rate, the content of oil in the seeds was high, In 2011 was approved as new edible oil species in China because of the root bark could be medicine, resources were destroyed and natural reproductive potential was weak, which leaded to the distribution was narrowing. The study investigated the Paeonia rockii resource, analyzed the content of oil in the seeds and seed oil composition, provided theoretical basis for germplasm resources of Paeonia rockii in Gansu province. The main results were as follows:1. Paeonia rockii since 6 years seed and the plant age reached 80 raw seed ability is still very strong.2. By investigating the annual output of single plant seed, the analysis indicated that the annual output of average single plant was 143.23 g; the annual output of average single plant of 6 to 10 years, 11 to 20years, 21 to 30 years and more than 30 years were 69.313 g、117.833 g、158 g、1008.667 g.3. The Paeonia rockii seed oil was extracted by Soxhlet extraction, the oil content in the seeds showed that the oil content was between 27.65 % and 43.84 % and the average oil content was 33.83 %; the oil content in different periods of the Paeonia rockii was not significant.4. The component and content of fatty acids analyzed by GC-MS. The results showed that the linolenic acid content was between 34.18 % and 68.02 % and the average linolenic acid content was 53.68 %; the range of oleic acid content was from 13.11 % to 34.01 % and the average oleic acid content was 21.12 %; the linoleic acid content in the range 10.42 %- 24.53 % and the average linoleic acid content was 16.89 %.5. Applying the method of grey correlative analysis, 52 kinds of Paeonia rockii in Gansu province were analyzed, the results showed that the top 10 oil peony varieties were ?Remanbar?, ?Dedication?, ?Scholar Holding Ink?, ?Lady?, ?Jin Yubai?, ?Yu Pan Zhang Jin?, ?Panda?, ?Silver Lily?, ?Purple Cinnabar?, and “Bai Yushan”, which were evaluated based on the comprehensive characters of the number of pods per plant, seed grain number per plant, seed dry weight, oil content, linolenic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid synthesis.
