In order to know the rule of dynamic changes of feeding characteristics of Duroc, Landrace and Large White pigs, investigate the influence of breed and gender on feeding characteristics and growth performances, and reveal the phenotypic correlation between feeding characteristics and growth performances in different pig breeds, based on the test of feeding and growth traits during 30~100 kg body weight of Duroc, Landrace, and Large White, the present paper had carried out systematic analysis on 6 feeding trais, number of visits per day(NVD), time spent eating per day(TPD), daily feed intake(DFI), time spent eating per visit(TPV), feed intake per visit(FIV) and total feed intake(TFI), 5 growth traits, days to 30 kg body weight(DAY30), days to 100 kg body weight(DAY100), average daily gain of 30~100 kg(ADG), backfat thickness at 100 kg body weight(BF100) and feed conversion rate(FCR), and the relationship between the two types of traits. The results showed that:(1) Feeding characteristics were obviously different among Duroc, Landrace and Large White pigs. However, no obvious differences were showed between male and female pigs within the same breed. When daily feed intake was similar, the more number of visits per day was, the shorter time spent eating per visit was, and vice versa. In order to increase the performances and benefits, scientific feeding should be adopted according to the feeding chacteristics of different breeds in the practical production.(2) The common rule was showed on the changing of feeding characteristics with the increase of age or body weight(i.e. weeks of test) in different pig breeds. With the increase of the age or body weight, the feed intake increased, but the number of visits and time spent eating decreased. It indicated that the stage by stage fine feeding and management should be implemented according to the rule in the pig production practice.(3) The growth traits were obviously different for different breed pigs. However, growth traits were not obviously different between male and female pigs within the same breed. In general, growth performance of Duroc pigs was better than that of Landrace and Large White pigs.(4) Some correlation coefficients between feeding and growth traits were statistically significant in Duroc, Landrace and Large White pigs. When daily feed intake was much more, pigs could gain higher ADG, shorter days to 100 kg body weight and lower FCR. In the practice of breeding and production, the indirect selection based on the correlation of different traits could be implemented to improve the selection efficiency of breeding pigs.
