In this paper, the hepatoprotective effects of the n-BuOH extract of Sedum sarmentosum in D-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide-induced hepatic failure in mice. The n-BuOH extract of Sedum sarmentosum reduced alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in serum, and increased tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) activity, but show no significant effect on Interleukin (IL-2) content in the liver, The ethyl acetate extract of S. reticulata has a protective effect against the induction of hepatic failure in mice by D-galactosamine and lipopolysaccharide.Bioassay-guided fractionation of a n-BuOH fraction of the EtOH extract of whole plant of Sedum sarmentosum.By repetitive column chromatography and preparative HPLC using a Rp-C18 column led to the isolation of 9 compounds. They are P-Sitosterol(1), Luteolin(2), Isorhamnetin(3), isovanillic acid(4),3,4-dihydroxybenzoa-te(5), Sarmentol C(6), diamyl phthalate(7), quercetin(8), Isoliquiritigenin(9). This subject is not only in degree of sedum sarmentousum on chemical constituents and their liver protection activity has increased, for further research and development of a liver protection activity material provides scientific.
