【Objective】The study to investigate the impact on metabolic syndrom of urban residents inNingxia which with different levels of calcium and25-hydroxyViamin D3, and to provide atheoretical basis for Ningxia MS prevention.【Methods】1. Study object: Using cross-sectional study, Xingqing District of Yinchuan,Qingtongxia of Wuzhong, Shapotou District of Zhongwei, Yuanzhou District of Gu Yuanand Dawu mouth of Shizuishan in NingXia were randomly selected with residents totaled2500. According to the2005International Diabetes Federation (IDF) diagnostic criteria ofmetabolic syndrome in the Asia-Pacific region and case-control study inclusion criteria andexclusion criteria,218patients with metabolic syndrome were selected into case group,while218healthies were selected into controls group.2. Study methods: Using flame atomic absorption spectrometry determination of calciumcontent in whole blood; enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to detect vitamin D levels;Glucose oxidase for fasting plasma glucose, enzymatic application of phosphotungstic for TC(total cholesterol) and TG (triglyceride ester), acid-magnesium precipitation method for thedetermination of HDL-C (high density lipoprotein), had the clear determination of LDL-Ccatalase; Pearson correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis and other methodsto estigate the relationship between calcium,25-(OH)-D3levers concentration and metabolic syndrome of correlation and relevance.【Results】1. The calcium of the MS group (P=0.000) and25-(OH)-D3(P=0.003) levels weresignificantly lower than the control group with statistically significant.2. The deficiency of25-(OH)-D3(ⅹ2=12.217, P=0.002) and calcium (ⅹ2=18.509, P=0.000) with MS was significantly higher than healthy controls.3. The Person correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that: inBMI (95%CI:-0.525to-0.084) and25-(OH)-D3presents a strong negative correlation, toenter the regression equation:25-(OH)-D3=28.399-0.305BMI.The body mass index (BMI)and serum calcium levels are highly negative correlation (B=-0.990,95%CI:-1.556-0.424), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and calcium levels was also found a strong negativecorrelation, high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C) show a little strong positive correlation withthe blood of Ca,and into the regression equation: Ca=90.130-0.990BMI-0.182the SBP+6.339the HDL-C.【Conclusions】1. The deficiencies of whole blood calcium and vitamin D are prevalent in Ningxiaurban community of health population.2. The concentration of calcium and25-hydroxy vitamin-D3in the Patients with MS issignifieantly lower than the healthy subjeets,(25-hydroxyvitamin-D3:23.32±2.66ng/mL,calcium:63.54±8.97ug/mL), and the deficiency of calcium and25-hydroxy vitamin D3with metabolic syndrome were more common.3. The low lever of calcium and25-hydroxy vitamin-D3maybe two risk factorsassociated with metabolic syndrome.
