| Objective: Previous studies have shown that serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3[25(OH)D3]and uric acid(UA)are risk factors for an increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MS),but the interaction between 25(OH)D3 and UA on MS is unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between 25(OH)D3 and UA and their interactions with MS among elderly residents in Tiexi community,Shenyang. Methods: From 2017-2018,we conducted a cross-sectional study of 3,954 residents aged over 60 in Tiexi community,Shenyang. The MS standard defined by NCEP‐ATP III was used to divide the population into the metabolic syndrome group and the non-metabolic syndrome group. The Logistic regression model was used to study the independent effects of two risk factors on MS and its components.Logistic regression model was used to study the independent effects of two risk factors on MS and its components. Results: In this study, the levels of age, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, triglycerides, total cholesterol,LDL,blood glucose, and uric acid in the metabolic syndrome group were all higher than those in the non-metabolic syndrome group, while the levels of HDL and 25(OH)D3 were lower than those in the non-metabolic syndrome group. After controlling for confounding factors,Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of 25(OH)D3 abnormality group was 1.415 times that of 25(OH)D3 abnormality(OR=1.415,95%CI:1.170~1.712,P<0.05),and the risk of UA abnormality group was 3.094 times that of UA normality(OR=3.094,95%CI:2.434~3.932,P<0.001).Combined analysis found that the risk of MS patients in the 25(OH)D3 and UA abnormal groups was 4.593 times that of the 25(OH)D3 and UA normal groups(OR=4.593,95%CI: 3.339~6.319,P<0.001).Higher than the risk of exposure to abnormal 25(OH)D3 alone(OR=1.367,95%CI: 1.113~1.677,P=0.003),and higher than the risk of exposure to abnormal UA alone(OR=2.185,95%CI:1.281~3.728,P=0.004).The interaction analysis showed that 25(OH)D3 and UA did not have the multiplication interaction, but had the addition interaction.Relative excess risk due to interaction,Attributable proportion due to interaction and Synergy index were2.042、0.443、2.300.Conclusion: The decrease of 25(OH)D3 and the increase of UA were independently associated with the occurrence of MS,and they have a positive additive interaction. When both exist, the combined evaluation effect on the occurrence of metabolic syndrome is better than a single index. |
