Background and purpose:Breast cancer is one of the common maglignant tumors in the female, the upward trend in incidence and mortality worldwide. However, there is no accurate prognosis factor, so to find and explore new breast cancer prognosis factors is still a hot topic of current research. TFF3involved in the repair process of damaged tissue, it also promote cell invasion. TFF3also involved in a variety of cellular signal transduction pathways. To investigate the expression of TFF3in invasive breast cancer and its correlation with clinical characteristics and the prognosis. Methods:Immunohistochemistry PV-9005method detected the expression of TFF3in118cases of invasive breast cancer and30cases of normal breast tissue. TFF3expression of the clinical and pathological and prognosis of patients were analyzed.Results:TFF3protein expression in118cases of invasive breast cancer was44.1%(52/118). TFF3high expression associated with the patient age, lymph node metastasis, HER2, ER and PR expression (P<0.05), and high expression of TFF3was associated with short progression-free survival (PFS)(P=0.013) and overall survival (OS)(P=0.018). Univariate analysis showed that tumor size, lymph node metastasis, TFF3protein expression and stages can be used as prognostic factors. However, multivariate analysis showed that tumor size, lymph node metastasis, TFF3protein expression are independent prognostic factor.Conclusion:TFF3is an adverse prognostic factor for invasitive breast cancer, with age, lymph node metastasis, ER, PR, and HER2expression. TFF3status was an independent prognostic factor for invasive breast cancer and its positive expression predicts worse outcome.
