A Survery Of Echinococcisis Among Children In Guoluo Tibetan Automonous Prefecture, Qinghai

Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study is to acquaint the epidemiological status and distribution characteristics of echinococcosis among children at school in Gouluo Tibetan automonous prefecture, Qinghai. It also identifies that the risk factors for echinococcosis among children and the value of different type of ultrasound in the diagnosis of echinococcosis, and determines the relative elements influencing the result tested of echinococcosis cases by most commonly used echinococcosis diagnostic reagent currently. This research provides scientific basis for the echincoccosis prevention, implement of the targeted prevention measures, evaluation of control effect and selecting appropriate diagnostic tools in the mass prevention and treatment work etc.The census of echinococcsis of pupils made in5county of Gouluo Tibetan automonous prefecture (namely, Maqin, Gande, Dari, Jiuzhi and Banma) found many children’s cases of echinococcosis in Gouluo. The prevalence of echinococcosis infection scanned by B-ultrasound and sera positive rate detected by ELIS A of pupils were respectively2.43%and19.75%. And the prevalence of cystic echinococcosis and alveolar echinococcosis by ultrasound were0.81%and1.63%respectively. The resut showed the hightest prevalence and sera positive rate of echinococcosis in Dari among five counties. Seropositivity rate and prevalence rate of echinococcosis were higher in females than in males. Correlation analysis showed that the prevalence increased with age. The survery also showed that children’s cases were basically in the early asymptomatic stages. It showed that the risk factors for echinococcosis among children were associated with the habit of without washing their hands everyday and dog-neighbours by using case-control study. Control measures for echinococcosis among children should focus on educating about careful washing of hand and decreasing dog numbers and expelling intestinal parasites for dogs in endemic areas.The result showed image sharpness to same lesion of echinococcosis was better in color dopper ultrasound than B-mode ultrasound by comprehensive evaluation methods of different ultrasound scanning integrated single index and multi-index. While color Doppler flow imaging can provides a basis for the differential diagnosis of alveolar echinococcosis. So color dopper ultrasound is more suitable for diagnosis cases of echinococcosis and evaluation of treament effect in echinococcosis endemic areas.By means of univariate analysis and multivariate logsistic regression analysis, it explores the relative elements which influence the result tested of echinococcosis cases by most commonly used echinococcosis diagnostic reagent currently. The results showed that the size of the maximum lesion and sub-type of cystic echinococcosis would be the main factors which affect the result tested by serologic examination. And the serology results of alveolar echinococcosis were affected by the size of the maximum lesion and gender.
