Objective To investigate the potential dissect element of primary angle closuresuspect which may lead to the development of primary angle closure glaucoma bymeasuring the parameters of anterior eye segment in primary angle closure suspectwith ultrasound biomicroscopy(UBM).Methods22cases(38eyes) of primary angleclosure suspect,25cases(44eyes) of chronic angle closure glaucoma and22cases(44eyes) of normal volunteer were enrolled continuously. All the objects were checkedwith UBM and the scanning images of the position of each eye on sagittal section ofsuperior, inferior, nasal and temporal were recorded.Analyzed the peripheral iris typesof primary angle closure suspect eyes and chronic angle closure glaucoma eyes, andmeasured anterior chamber depth(ACD),anterior chamber angle(AA),trabecular-ciliary process distance(TCPD),B angle and T-Values.Furthermore the differencebetween primary angle closure suspect group, chronic angle closure glaucoma groupand control group were compared. Results There were no significant difference of theperipheral iris types between primary angle closure suspect group and chronic angleclosure glaucoma group(P>0.05).ACD,AA,TCPD,B angle and T-Values of threegroups which compared in pairs were significantly different(P<0.05).Parameters ofthe chronic angle closure glaucoma group decreased significantly than those of theprimary angle closure suspect group, while parameters of the control group were thelargest of the three groups. Conclusion Shallow anterior chamber, narrow anteriorchamber angle and ciliary processes position forward swing are high risk factors ofthe development from primary angle closure suspect to chronic angle closureglaucoma.
