| Objective: To study the vertigo patients’s VNG and VEMP characteristics, and compared withthe testing data of healthy controls, to explore the diagnosis value of VNG and VEMP invertigo disease.Patients and Methods:32cases of healthy controls in different gender and age distribution ofVEMP, VNG test. Total114cases of patients with vertigo, according to the patient’s clinicalmanifestations to divided into genuine vertigo and pseudo vertigo group, take VNGã€VEMPinspections and compare the test data with the healthy controls, comparing the differences databetween different groups.Results:1. The VEMP single ear P13and N23incubation period and the double ears’s incubationperiodã€IADã€amplitude asymmetric rate of healthy controls in different gender〠age grouphave not statistical significant difference, P>0.05; Male’s VEMP amplitude higher thanwomen’s,the VEMP amplitude have statistical significant difference, P<0.05;.The caloric testabnormal rate have not statistical difference between the sexes, but had statistical differencebetween age,P <0.05,the elderly group have higher test abnormal rate than the middle-agedgroup.2. Genuine vertigo patients’s VEMP single ear P13and N23incubation period and thedouble ears’s incubation period have statistical difference with the healthy controls, P<0.05.VNG anomaly detection has statistical difference with the healthy controls, P<0.05.VEMP anomaly detection and VNG anomaly detection, IAD, amplitude asymmetric rate haveno statistical difference with the healthy controls, P>0.05.3. The pseudo vertigo patientsVEMP single ear P13and N23incubation period, VNG anomaly detection have statisticaldifference with the healthy controls, P<0.05. VEMP anomaly detection and VNG anomalydetection rate and the difference of the incubation period between the double ears, IAD,asymmetric rate have no statistical difference with the healthy controls, P>0.05.4. VEMPanomaly detection in genuine vertigo patients have statistical difference with pseudo vertigo. The genuine vertigo’s VNG anomaly detection rate compared with pseudo vertigo have no statistical difference, P>0.05.Conclusions:1. VNG and VEMP joint application can be use to diagnosis of vertigo.2. VEMP in genuine vertigo more sensitivity.3. VNG can distinguish between vestibular peripheral and central lesions4. The caloric test and position test use to judge the semicircular canal lesions. |
