Objective:To testing homemade tension self-locking intramedullary nail’s anti—axlecompression,anti-lateral bending and anti-torsion property in the femoral upper1/3short oblique fractures model and compare with general interlocking intramedullarynail. Summarize biomechanical characteristics of the tension self-locking intramed-ullary nail, Then provide a reliable theoretical basis for further research. Methods:Selected ten root corrosion adult corpse femur, eliminating muscle tissue, bymacroscopic observation and X-ray exclude osteopathy and other bone disease. Thesame body left and right side of the femur or in accordance with the va lues of thefemur length, the diameter of the medullary cavity of similar specimens wererandomly divided into tension self-locking intramedullary nail group (experimentalgroup), the common locked intramedullary nailing group (control group),and humanfactors cause femoral upper1/3short oblique fractures, then Separately installedfemoral tension self-locking intramedullary nail and interlocking intramedullary nail.the composite bone nail were mounted on MTS to carry out axial compression loadtest, torsion test and three-point bending test. Electronic universal testing machinedisplacement transducer automatically record each time of displacement, and inputthe collected data into electronic universal testing machine to own a computer, Allthe data for statistical analysis using SAS18.0software, To determine the mechanicalcharacteristics of the similarities and differences between the two fixation methods, evaluate its significance.Results:1. On a scale of0-1200N axial compression loading, the tension self-lockingintramedullary nail anti-axial compression resistance is superior to the general interlocking intramedullary nailing group, and statistical analysis P <0.05, statisticalsignificance was found between the two.2. Under the10Nm of torque, the torsion resistance of tension self-lockingintramedullary nail and ordinary interlocking intramedullary nail are no statisticalsignificance (P>0.05).3. The three point bending experiments, the bending resistance ability of thetension self-locking intramedullary nail is better than general interlockingintramedullary nails, there are statistically significant(P <0.05).4. Tension self-locking intramedullary nail operation is relatively simple, theinstallation process smoothly, can very good complete near and far end bladeself-locking.Conclusion:The results reveal that the structure of the tension self-locking intramedullarynail design is reasonable, operation is simple, having good biomechanical propertiesin anti—axle compression,anti-lateral bending and anti-torsion. Tension self-lockingintramedullary nail belong to intramedullary fixed half rigidity and elasticity andconforms to biomechanical principle, providing sufficient stability to meet therequirements of femoral fracture healing. the tension self-locking intramedullary nailis a kind of safe and reliable intramedullary fixation.
