Objective:This study is the analysis of the relationshipbetween matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in patientswho were rupturedcerebral aneurysm in4-14days after the change of serumconcentration of cerebralvasospasm,so as to explore them whether as suitable indicators of cerebral vasospasmin patients that after ruptured cerebral aneurysm surgery with cerebral vasospasmafter subarachnoid hemorrhage or not. Methods:Usingzymography method for quantitative detection ofMMP-2and MMP-9in35postoperative patients’blood-serum(Craniotomy clipping surgery or Interventionaltherapy) from4to14days, we also analyzed the serum from healthy volunteersat thesame time. While passing through transcranial Doppler ultrasound, and compared thecerebral vascular spasm and determine the extent of the MMP-2and MMP-9expression levels. Results:The expression levels of MMP-2and MMP-9in patients with subarachnoidhemorrhage are higher than healthy volunteers, especially the MMP-9. The level ofMMP-9in patients is associated with cerebral vasospasm(P<0.01), and the level ofMMP-2in patients is not associated with cerebral vasospasm(P>0.05).The levels ofMMP-2and MMP-9in patients from different genders, ages or the numbers ofcerebral aneurysm are not associated with cerebral vasospasm(P>0.05), differentSurgical approaches do not impact the level of MMP-2、MMP-9and cerebralvasospasm,. MMP-9expression levelrises from the fourth day, and peaks at6-8days,then gradually declines, a bit higher than normal level after14days.MMP-2reachesthe first peak in the fourth day, then declines, and reaches the second peak in8-10days, falls again but the expression level is still high than normal after14days. Conclusions:The expression levels ofMMP-2and MMP-9in patients with ruptured cerebralaneurysm are significantly higher than normal, and the expression of MMP-9ispositively correlated with vascular spasticity in patients. Although MMP-2also showshigh expression in blood-serum, but there is no significant correlation with the degreeof spasticity of cerebral vascular. The expression levels of MMP-9is expected tobecome a diagnostic indicators of cerebral aneurysm rupture in SAH patients causedby cerebral vasospasm, and to provide guidance for the subsequent treatment.
