Objective:To explore the application of Attention Network Test (ANT) in the diagnosis of depression by comparing the ANT results of healthy population and depressive individuals. To explore the application of ANT in the treat of depression by comparing the curative effect of medical treatments with or without the direction of ANT results.Methods:1. Establish the norm sample data by using the ANT results of healthy population. Compare the ANT results and Event Related Potentials (ERPs) of the depressive individuals with the norm.2. The treatment group receive medical treatments with the direction of ANT results. The control group receive medical treatments without the direction of ANT results. Compare the results of ANT and clinical psychology assessments of two groups.3. Compare the ERPs of two groups after medical treatments.Result:1. The ANT results of healthy population suggest that the normal range of Alertness Network Efficiency (ANE), Orientation Network Efficiency (ONE) and Executive process Network Efficiency (ENE) are respectively16.54-52.06,21.75-62.19and51.1-166.54. Comparing with the norm sample data, the depressive individuals’ ANE, ONE and ENE are significantly abnormal.2. Comparing with the healthy population, the depressive individuals’ERPs have similar waveform, whereas there are some significant differency in some parts of waves.3. Comparing with the control group, after2,4,6,8weeks medical treatments, the treatment group’s BPRS scores, MADRS scores and CG1-GI scores all have significant difference except the2weeks BPRS score, the6and8weeks CGI-GI scores.4. After8weeks medical treatments, the treatment group’s ANT results significantly better improved than the control group in the accuracy, the ANE and the ENE.5. After8weeks medical treatments, the treatment group’s ERPs scalp amplitude distribution graphs reveal some significant activation in some parts of executive process network and in parts of central reminder and double reminder induced ERPs.Conclusion:1. There are some disfunctions of attention network in the depressive individuals.2. Using ANT results to direct the medical treatments of depression might improve the effects.3. Using ANT results to direct the medical treatments of depression might improve the patients’attention network functions.
