PurposeTo observe the clinical efficacy of Vinpocetine on the prevention ofintraoperative and postoperative cerebral arterial spasm.Materials And MethodsRetrospective analysis of the patients from January2012to March2013,412cases of cerebral angiography patients were randomly divided intotreatment group and control group(207and205cases,respectively). Treatmentgroup are given250ml of normal saline and vinpocetine6ml qd since three daysbefore surgery to two days after surgery. At the same time, the control grouponly given250ml of normal saline. We give no vasodilators and vasospasmmedicine to the two groups. In the end, we observe the clinical efficacy ofVinpocetine on prevention of intraoperative and postoperative cerebral arterialspasm. Two-sample T-test and chi-square test were performed to compare theclinical efficacy of Vinpocetine on prevention of intraoperative and postoper-ative cerebral arterial spasm.ResultsThere is no arterial spasm occurs in treatment group. In control group, intraoperative and postoperative,7and8cases occurs cerebral arterial spasmrespectively. The total incidence rate is7.31%5cases (2.43%) and2cases(0.97%) occurred intraoperative and postoperative symptomatic vasospasm, respectively). There is a significant difference between the two groups byTwo-sample T-test(P<0.05) and chi-square test (P<0.01)(2=15.719, P=0.000).ConclusionsVinpocetine can effectively prevent the intraoperative and postoperative cerebral arterial spasm by intravenous drip before angiography.
