BackgroundWith the rapid development of the transportation and the increase of outdoor a ctivities, the incidence of acromioclavicular joint dislocation is trending to rapidly a scend. There are many common surgical procedures at the moment, and the clavicu lar hook plate fixation has become the primary means of treatment of the disease. But accompaniedwith the corresponding problems are more and more. Professor Ste ven Struhl, Orthopaedic Hospital, New York University, proposed a new way of co racoclavicular ligament reconstruction:Double Endobutton fixation. It has a good e ffects according to related news, and it also began to clinical application domestical ly.ObjectiveA retrospective study had been done to analyze the preliminary effect ofdouble endobutton technique for treating of RockwoodⅢ acromioclavicular jointdislocation. Both internal fixation with clavicular hook plate and internal fixation with double e ndobutton plate were used on treating the acromioclavicular joint dislocation.MethodsFrom September2011to July2013,28patients of RockwoodⅢ acromioclavi cular joint dislocation were treated with the indications for surgery in the third Affi liated Hospital of XinXiang Medical University. We divided all the patients into tw o groups. The shoulder joint double endobutton plate fixation method which contain ed12cases (referred to the group A), with clavicular hook plate16patients (grou p B). Evaluate the function of shoulder between two groups of patients with Const ant scores, VAS score and SSV score after operation (1to8) months.ResultsAll of them were followed up for(8to22) mouths(10.6±8.1).Shoulder joint C onstant total score of the group A and group B were (86.4±10.5) points and (78.1±9.1) points, The group A scores were higher than the group B, there was statisti cal significance(P<0.05), After operation, SSV score washigher and VAS was lowe r than preoperative, SSV score in group A was higher and VAS was lower than g roup B, the differences has statistical significant(P<0.05)). Patients in the group A did not have significant complications. For the group B,1case have Subacromial i mpingement syndrome and6cases have foreign body sensation. the differences has statistical significant(P<0.05)).ConclusionThe double endobutton internal fixation is an method which is stabilized after reduction, simple operation, less complications, and need not to have a second oper ation to remove the internal fixation in treatment of RockwoodⅢ acromioclavicular joint dislocation. It is a safe and effective method.
