BackgroundThe vast majority of heart disease eventually developed chronic heart failure. The incidence is increasing year by year with the progress of society. It is a serious impact on human life and health. Heart failure has become a problem in medicine today. Cardiotrophin-1(CT-1) is a recently discovered cytokine. It can induce cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and ventricular remodeling. It has significant value as brain natriuretic peptide (BNP). It has some clinical significance. It can provide help for the diagnosis of heart failure.ObjectivesBy measuring the level of plasma cardiotrophin-1in chronic heart failure patients,we investigate the correlation between the cardiotrophin-1and chronic heart failure.Methods1. We used case-control study method. According to the Chinese Medical Association2007Clinical evaluation criteria of chronic heart failure, we collected87cases of patients with chronic heart failure from January2013to March2014,and these patients were in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University of Cardiology. We put them into three groups according to the New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification method.The class II heart function group were26cases, The class III heart function group were34cases, The class IV heart function group were27cases. While we incorporated age-and sex-matched30healthy normal subjects as controls.2. We collected general information for all subjects, and we take suction5ml peripheral venous blood in another day.Then we measured all subjects plasma cardiotrophin-1levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Meanwhile,we used the color doppler of cardiac to measure left ventricular diastolic diameter (LVDD)and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).3. Then we used SPSS17.0software to analyze all the data. And we used the mean±standard deviation (x±s) record and show the results.Measurement data between the two groups were compared using t test, Two or more data were compared using analysis of variance,P<0.05was considered to be a significant difference.Relationship between two variables using Pearson correlation analysis, with P<0.05was considered statistically significant.Results1. We found HF plasma CT-1levels were significantly higher. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).2. NYHA III group CT-1levels were significantly elevated by Comparing with NYHA II group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). NYHA IV group CT-1levels were significantly elevated by Comparing with NYHA III group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).3. Cardiotrophin-1levels and NT-proBNP (y=0.855, P<0.001) were positively correlated, Cardiotrophin-1levels and LVEF (y=-0.704, P<0.001) were negative correlated, Cardiotrophin-1levels and LVDD (r=0.487,P<0.01) were positively correlated.Conclusions1. The plasma CT-1expression levels is increased in patients with heart failure. With the severity of heart failure increasing, the gap is obvious. This suggests that heart failure increases with the incidence of CT-1has a certain relationship.2. CT-1and NT-pro BNP, LVDD, LVEF have a few correlation. This study suggests that if we detecte CT-1combined with NT-pro BNP, It will help us diagnose the heart failure and Judge the prognosis.
