Objective:To assess clinical application value of radiofrequency ablation in treating smallliver cancer patients with severe cirrhosis.Methods:64patients with primary small liver cancer and severe liver cirrhosis werecollected in Jining First People’s Hospital from January2010to January2013. All patients inthe group were checked with enhanced CT and test the tumor markers, such as, AFP,CEA. Allthe liver tumors were single and1-3cm in diameter. Tumors malignancy were demonstratedby postoperative pathologic results.Depending on the therapeutic treatment methods, thepeople with liver cancer were divided into two groups: the radiofrequency ablation group andthe surgical resection group. In the radiofrequency ablation groups, there were34patientswith20man and14woman. Their average age was48.2±10.2years. Average tumordiameter was1.9±0.4cm.11patients were in grade A and23patients were grade Baccording to the preoperative liver function before surgery. In the surgical resection group, there were30patients with18men and12women. Their average age was50.2±10.2years.Tumor average diameter was2.0±0.4cm.10patients were in grade A and20patients weregrade B according to the liver function before surgery. Results:Age, gender, liver function classification before operation, tumor recurrence andmetastasis rate and survival rate after1years were similar in the two groups (P>0.05). In theradiofrequency ablation group, operation time, intraoperative bleeding, cases of using postoperative analgesic, hospital stay were significantly lower than those of the surgicalresection cancer resection group (P <0.05). Complications such as postoperative bleeding, refractory ascites, liver failure rate in surgical resection cancer resection group weresignificantly higher than those of the radiofrequency ablation group (P <0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of radiofrequency ablation and surgical resection in with severecirrhosis of the liver of patients with small liver cancer and severe cirrhosis of the liver wereis similar to the curative effect of radiofrequency ablation and surgical resection, andradiofrequency ablation has the advantages of small trauma, fewercomplications.Radiofrequency ablation RFA provides a new treatment.method for smallhepatocellular carcinoma patients with severe cirrhosis provides a new method of treatment.
