| Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect between Electro Acupuncture and Antacid in treatment epigastric pain. Methods:This research observe60patients with epigastric pain caused by:chronic gastritis,anxiety/stress, malabsorbtion, indigestion, gastritis by drug, gastro esophageal reflux diseases. All cases were out patients. The subjects were divided into2groups:There were30cases in electro acupuncture groups from Kandangsapi Public Health Center Acupuncture clinic, among them21were female and9male, the youngest was25years old and the oldest was77years old as for diseases duration the shortest was2days and the longest3months. There were5cases pathogenic cold attacking the stomach,11cases stagnation and blood stasis,2cases retention of food,6cases yin deficiency in the stomach and6cases yang deficiency in the spleen and stomach30patients in drug control group from Kandangsapi Public Health Centre general clinic were treated in the same period as those of electro acupuncture group, among them21were female and9male, the youngest was18years old and the oldest was80years old, the shortest disease duration was3days and the longest was3months.Prior to the intervention patients in the pain scale used to check both the acupuncture group and the control groupTherapeutic Method (Intervention):Treatment group:with electro acupuncture Body Acupuncture Principal acupoints:Zhongwan (CV12), Jianli (CV11), Zusanli (ST36), Liangmen (ST21), Neiguan (PC6)Operation:The point area was routinely disinfected by70%ethyl alcohol and stainless filiform needles0.25mm in diameter and40mm in length were selected for Zhongwan, Jianli, Zusanli, LiangmenAfter the arrival of needling sensation, treat with a strong stimulation using a continuous wave produced by an electric stimulator KWD808, for20minutes. Filiform needles0.25in diameter and25mm in length were selected for Neiguan After the arrival of needling sensation, the needles were retained for20minutes Treatment every day, duration for1weekModification acupoints:1. To the pattern of pathogenic cold invasion of the stomach:add Weishu (BL21) 2. To the pattern of food retention:add Xiawan (CV10)3. To the pattern of attack on the stomach by liver qi:add Taichong (LR3)4. To the pattern of qi stagnation and blood stasis:add Geshu (BL17)5. To the pattern of yang deficiency in the spleen and stomach: add Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4),Pishu (BL20), Weishu (BL21)6. To the pattern of stomach yin deficiency:add Sanyinjiao (SP6)Operation:The point area was routinely disinfected by70%ethyl alcohol and stainless filiform needles0.25mm in diameter and40mm in length were selected for acupoint based on the pattern. After the arrival of needling sensation, the needle were manipulated manual (scrabbing technique), scraping down for reinforcing, scrapping up for reducing. Treatment every day, duration for1weeksControl group:with antacidsAntacids contains:Aluminium Hydroxide (Al (OH)3) and Magnesium hydroxide (Mg (OH)2) Preparation:tablet200mg.Dose:1tablet3times a day1hours before meal for1week Criteria of therapeutic effects:cure, remarkable effect, improvement, no effect After1week and1month checked pain scale. The therapeutic effect compared after1week and1month between the2groups.Data recording is done every day, in the evaluation of patients pain scale change. After recording the data collected in the table exel windows, and in the process the SPSS20programResults:Among the30patients acupuncture group,23(38,3%) were cure,6(10%) remarkable effect,1(1,7%) improvement, no effect0(0%).Among the30patients control group,2(3,3%) were cure,3(5%) remarkable effect,11(18,3%) improvement, no effect14(23,3%).The total effective rate was99.99%in acupuncture groups and52,32%in control groups, suggesting a significant difference (P<0,05)Conclusion:Acupuncture treatment is much more effective than antacids in the treatment of epigastric pain. |
