Flos rosa chinensis, also known as Yue Ji Hong, Yue Yue Hong et al, is the dry flower of Rosa chinensis. Jacq. in Rosaceae. The seed of flos rosa chinensis is original from China, and widely cultivates in our country now. It contains flavonoid glycoside, pigments, phenolic acid, volatile oil and pentacyclic triterpene and so on, has greate value in the development and utilization. The flos rosa chinensis has the resist bacteria, anti-viral, the oxidation resistance, the anti-tumor, the inhibition of platelet aggregation and the enhancement organism immunity. The studies of the flos rosa chinensis include two aspects:chemical composition and anti-tumor activity.n-BuOH fraction of95%EtOH extraction of flos rosa chinensis was isolated and purified by macroporous resin D101, MCI, Sephadex LH-20, polyamide, ODS, silica gel chromatgraphy and crystallization. Sixteen compounds were separated and purified from the n-BuOH fraction of flos rosa chinensis.According to their Physical and Chemical Constants and their spectral data (1H-NMR、13CNMR、HSQC), The chemical structure of eleven compounds were detemined as decanoic acid(1), P-daucosterol(2), ursolic acid(3), pyrogallic acid(4), rutin (5), isoquercetrin(6), quercetin(7), p-methoxyphenol(8), tiliroside(9), quercetin-3-O-(2",6"-digalloyl)-β-D-glucoside (10),2’-butyryloxy-4’-methoxybenzyl-6’-hydroxy-4-hydroxy-3-O-glucoside-1-benzoate(11). The compounds1,4,8and11were isolated and purified from flos rosa chinensis for the first time and11was new compound.In addition, the anti-tumor activities of n-BuOH fraction from flos rosa chinensis were detected in breast cancer MCF-7cells, liver cancer SMMC-7721cells and stomach MGC-803cells. It indicated that it inhibited the growth of liver cancer SMMC-7721cells. Further gradient elution liquid and the obtained monomer compounds were detected in liver cancer SMMC-7721cells. It indicated that the pryogallic acid and p-methoxyphenol had inhibitory effect on the growth of liver cancer SMMC-7721cells.The research provides a theory research method on the chemical composition of flos rosa chinensis and their anti-tumor activities. It leads to the foundation for further research, development and utilization of flos rosa chinensis.
