Background:Uterine fibroid is the most common benign tumor that often occurred in female aged30-50, with incidence of20-30%. Technically, there are two approaches to the treatmentof uterine fibroid:surgical and non-surgical treatment. As there is still lack of effectivenon-surgical treatment with low recurrence rate at the current stage. Thus, the surgicaltreatment is highly recommended in the diagnostic process. As two options oflaparoscopic surgery, myomectoy and hysterectomy are widely recognized in the clinicapplication. While, which specific surgical method should be taken is still a key issuethat is mutual concerned by doctors and patients. However, most of studies on this issueare still in the elementary phase and less investigations have been launched on thequality of life for the perimenopausal women who had been taken different surgicalmethods. As in today’s patient-oriented era, the concept of "quality of life" has alreadybeen widely accepted, thus, such kind of investigation could provide patients a newcomprehensive assessment related to both the burden of disease and treatment effect.Aim:The Paper set a design to evaluate the quality of life(QOL) and the health economic results of laparoscopic surgery for treating uterine fibroid among women aged between45and50.The study aims to compare the quality of life between the laparoscopicmyomectomy (LM) and laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) and medical expenses.Explorea scientifie and effective treament for perimenopausal women with fibroids and makebio-psycho-social medical model used widely in gynecology clinic. Methods:This study involved30patients undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy and30withlaparoscopic myomectomy those who aged between45and50.They all receive asurgery treatment for uterine fibroid in Dalian Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalduring January to July2013.Domains of the Short Form-36(SF-36) questionnaire wereevaluated pre-and postoperatively in women with LM and LH. Furthermore, assistedsurveies of menopausal symptoms, sexual life and economic indicators. SF-36questionnaire scoring follow its scoring system. Data were analyzed by SPSS13.0software package. Statistical methods using T test, inspection, reliability and validityanalysis and chi-square. P <0.05was considered statistically significant.Results:SF-36scale has good performance in evaluating the quality of life in women withuterine fibroid. As a result of data analysis, the SF-36scores of the patients undergoingLM is higher than those with LH, P<0.05. And it also indicates that among this twogroups, there shows a significant difference among physical function, role limitationsdue to physical health, general health perceptions, social function, role limitations dueto emotional problems and mental health, P<0.05; As for bodily pain and vitality thesetwo dimensions, no statistical significance was revealed although there existed adifference between the two groups.LM improved the qualit of life of the patients whileLH made it worse. More patients who took the LH reported hot flashes,anxiety/melancholy and fatigue, P<0.05; In the aspect of sex, the patient who took theLH announced higher occurrence of lower sex drive, vaginal dryness and sexual anxiety,P<0.05.Compared with LH,patients with LM spent less and left hospital earlier,P<0.05. Conclusion:The findings from this study suggest that LM improves QoL of women aged between45and50compared with LH.LH reduces the quality of sexual life of patients byeffecting their libido, vaginal and sexual anxiety. At the same time,LH upgraded theincidences in menopausal symptoms. Totally,LM has little effect on menopausalsymptoms and sexual life while in lower cost of money and time.which also pmprovedthe OoL obviously.LM is a appropriate surgical treatment for promoting in clinic.
