Current situation:(1) with the development of the national economy, theSuzhou area of industrial scale expansion of enterprises, the use of sulfuric acid in asubstantial increase, and a wide range of areas, with numerous, large-scale use of alarge number of sulfur fuel use and firecrackers and other sulfur-containing productsalso increased sulfur oxide content in the air, causing acid rain increased opportunities, sulfuric acid detection in atmospheric environment needs to find a suitable method formonitoring of atmospheric sulfate content.(2) sulfate samples often come into contact zone of different enterprises in the airof workplace in the laboratory, with the regional development, the continuousexpansion of enterprise scale, in practical work, the workplace needs of sulfate in theair of detection increased continuously, so the detection(3) according to the detection method of sulfate in the air current literature thereare capacity method, temperature-titration chemical gravimetric method, ionchromatography and spectrophotometry (barium chloride turbidimetric method, barium chromate turbidimetry), several important methods.(4) because each analysis laboratory conditions are the same, different needs, different, different equipment, the applicability of the method is different, face thereality demand such, is bound to put forward to the necessity and practicability ofdetection method of screening. Therefore, we according to the existing conditions ofthis laboratory on several currently used to practical detection method for selectionand comparison. Objective: by screening for the detection of sulfuric acid content in the air ofworkplace, advantages and disadvantages of different methods and applicationconditions, selected the most suitable detection method of this unit, and provide areference for the different test conditions and needs to possess and institutions. Methods: the research design is more normative, comparative study on themethod of determination of sulfate content in the air, through the different methodsfor evaluation of uncertainty in measurement (3), precision and accuracy, detectionlimit, high and low level of difficulty of operation, the length of time step, simplified, equipment and reagent in comparison of what, and adaptive conditions, method ofstudy is divided into five parts to reveal five different methods and applicationconditions. The measurement uncertainty is an important parameter to reflect thereliability of detection results, is an important index to measure the detection results, which can be directly compared several determination methods, so as to select thebest method for measuring air detecting sulfuric acid used in the. Conclusion: through the measurement of five different methods of uncertainty, precision and accuracy, detection limit, high and low level of difficulty of operation, the length of time step, simplified, equipment and reagents into the comparison andscreening, as well as a number of adaptive conditions, results showed that the methodfor the determination of sulfate in the air ion chromatography is the best detectionmethod. Results: by analyzing the temperature-titration method, chemical method ofweight, barium chloride turbidimetric method and Barium ChromateSpectrophotometry, evaluation of uncertainty of measurement of ion chromatographyof the five different methods for determination of sulfate in the air, precision andaccuracy, detection limit, high and low level of difficulty of operation, the length oftime, step simplified, equipment and reagent into the comparison and screening, aswell as a number of adaptive conditions, the results show that the five methods havetheir advantages and disadvantages, the comprehensive comparison, ionchromatography is the most simple, time-saving, economic, analysis method ofenvironmental protection. Conclusion: the method for the determination of sulfate in air by ionchromatography is the best detection method.
