ObjectionTo assess the clinical efficacy and relative factors of High-intensityfocused ultrasound(HIFU) ablation for the treatment of patients withadenomyosisMethods32patients with adenomyosis treated by HIFU were followed up for6months.A five point scoring instrument was used to assess clinical efficacyat regular intervals.Ultrasonic imaging was obtained preoperatively, after3months and6months. The data were analysised with SPSS21.0.ResultsThirty-two patients completed the ultrasound ablationprocedure. Thirty-one patients finished at least a6month follow up. Thesize of uterus and that of the adenomyosis decreased from213.9±84.0cm3、52±34.3cm3preoperatively to179.3±78.0cm3、33.1±45.9cm3at3months after the procedure, and thesize of uterus and that of the adenomyosis decreased from 213.9±84.0cm3、52.0±34.3cm3preoperatively to160.2±58.9cm3、25.2±21.5cm3at6months after the procedure,Scores fordysmenorrhea decreased significantly. Clinical effectiveness of thetreatment was observed in31women with varying degrees of symptomaticsustained relief of dysmenorrhea.Anteroposterior diameter of the lesionwas significantly correlated with the treatment efficacy at6months postprocedure.ConclusionHIFU is a promising choice for treatment of patients withadenomyosis. The clinical outcomes are related to the anteroposteriodiameter...
