Objective:To evaluate the distribution and expression level of PEDF and VTN in prostate cancer tissues group and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues group, and to research its clinical significance. Methods:Observation of PEDF and VTN experssion in prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues by immunohistochemistry and analyze statistically. Analyze the relation between the expression of PEDF protein and VTN protein and clinicopathologic parameters. Results:Immunohistochemistry showed that in the prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues, the expression of PEDF and VTN in prostate cancer tissues have statistically significant (P=0.011, P=0.008). PEDF and VTN expression in prostate cancer in age had no significant different (P=0.345, P=0.434).The expression of PEDF showed significant difference in serum PSA, Gleason score, clinical stage and tumor metastasis (P<0.05). The expression of VTN showed significant difference in Gleason score, clinical stage and tumor metastasis (P<0.05) serum PSA, but it showed significant difference in serum PSA (p<0.05). Conclusion:1.This study further validates our preparatory work in organization leve:PEDF and VTN has obvious expression while only two cases of prostate cancer in the group expression in benign prostatic hyperplasia, suggesting that PEDF and VTN may be significant for diagnosis.2.The expression of PEDF showed significant difference in serum PSA, Gleason score, clinical stage and tumor metastasis, that suggest PEDF to determine or help the degree of malignancy and prognosis.3.The expression of VTN showed significant difference in Gleason score, clinical stage and tumor metastasis, but it showed significant difference in serum PSA.4.The PEDF and VTN expression in prostate cancer metastasis group was reduced than those without metastasis, suggesting that PEDF and VTN have a certain relationship on tumor metastasis.
