ObjectiveThrough the establishment of animal models of inferior alveolar nerve injuryduring dental implant socket preparation, nerve growth factor(NGF) was appliedlocally to promote functional recovery of injuried nerve,so as to open up a newidea for systemic treatment of inferior alveolar nerve injury during dental implantsocket prepariation.MethodsCanine model of inferior alveolar nerve injury during dental implant socketpreperation was established, NGF microspheres were applied locally after nerveinjury in experimental group, blank microspheres were used locallly in controlgroup, and no nerve injury was performed in blank control group. Specimensof distal parts of injured nerve from injured sites were obtained in1d,3d,7d,4wafter operation, immunofluorescence, Western Blot method were adopted toobserve the expression of NF-kappaB, GAP43and nerve recovery.ResultsEach dog survived postoperatively, normal mental state, diet and activitieswere observed, incision healed well, Immunofluorescence results findicated thatNF-kB positive expression rate is low in blank group, and positive expressionrate of1and3days postoperatively increase gradually in control group, the positive expression rate reached peak on7day, the positive expression ratedecreased in4week after operation; The NF-kB positive expression rate on1day postoperatively increased in experimental side, on3day reached peak, andthe positive expression decreased gradually on7day to4week postoperativelyin experiment group. Western Blot results showed that expression of NF-kB inblank group was very low; The expression of NF-kB on1and3day afteroperation was significant in control group, and reached peak on7day p.o., theexpression decreased sharply after7days, the expression quantity of NF-kBwas greater in control group than in blank group. The expression of NF-kB wassignificant after operation in experiment group, the expression, reached peak on3day p.o., then declined. The expression quantity was greater in experimentgroup than in blank group. GAP43expressed little in blank group, GAP43expression increased on1and3day p.o. in control group, and reached peakon7day p.o., then decreased. expression quantity of GAP43was greater incontrol group than in blank group. The expression of GAP43was significantpostoperatively in experiment group, reached peak on3day p.o., then theexpression declined. The expression quantity was greater in experiment groupthan in blank group.ConclusionsNerve growth factor release agent can be an excellent protein to repairperipheral nerve injury, the clinical prospects.
