ObjectiveTo detect the expression of PFKFB3and microvessel density (MVD) in human pancreatic cancer tissues and relative para-carcinoma tissues and investigate the clinical significance and correlation of PFKFB3with MVD.MethodsThe expressions of PFKFB3in41cases of pancreatic cancer and11cases of para-carcinoma tissues were detected by immunohistochemical SP method and CD34positive vessels considered as MVD in those tissues were counted. Then relationships between expression of PFKFB3and MVD, correlation of PFKFB3with clinical characteristics, MVD with clinical characteristics were analyzed respectively.ResultsThe positive expression rate of PFKFB3in pancreatic tissue and para-carcinoma tissue were63.41%and9.09%, which was significantly higher in the pancreatic tissue(P<0.01); the MVD of pancreatic tissue with positive and negative PFKFB3expression were (49.12±12.04),(35.40±8.12) respectively(P<0.01). The expression of PFKFB3was significantly related to the differentiation degree of pancreatic tissue(P=0.035), MVD was related to both TNM stage and lymph node metastasis of pancreatic tissue(P<0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed that the expression of PFKFB3was positively correlated with MVD(r=0.551,P<0.01).Conclusions1.PFKFB3and MVD expression were significantly higher in pancreatic cancer than in para-carcinoma tissue;2. PFKFB3expression in pancreatic cancer was related to pathological stage, MVD was related to TNM stage and lymph node metastasis;3.PFKFB3expression and MVD count were positively correlated.
