Objective:Little is known about how spontaneous brain activity during the resting state may be altered in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) compared to Control subjects. In the current study, we used measures of amplitude of low-frequency (0.01-0.08Hz) fluctuation (ALFF) and functional connectivity (FC) to investigate the regional baseline brain function of this disorder. Methods:Twenty acute stage mTBI patients and Twenty age-education-and gender-matched healthy volunteers participated in a Structural imaging、Susceptibility Weighted imaging (SWI) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scan. We analyzed the difference between the PTSD and comparison groups during a resting state using ALFF. all participants were administered the Stroop Color-Word Association Test、Benton Visual Retention Test Montreal Cognitive Assessment、WAIS-RCResults:mTBI subjects showed increased spontaneous activity in the Right Inferior Occipital Gyrus, Lingual_R (aal), as well as decreased spontaneous activity in the Right Cerebellum Posterior Lobe, Insula_R/Superior Temporal Gyrus, Cingulum_Ant_L (aal), Frontal_Mid_R (aal), Right Inferior Parietal Lobule, Left Inferior Parietal Lobule, Angular_L, Angular_R (aal). the brain area with increased functional connectivity to the seed voxel included Cerebellum Posterior Lobe、Temporal_Pole_Sup_L、Inferior Frontal Gyrus、Middle Frontal Gyrus、Middle Temporal Gyrus、Anterior Cingulate、Hippocampus_L (aal)、Cingulum_Post_R(aal)/Precuneusand Angular_R, Angular_L, while the brain area with decreased functional connectivity included Postcentral_R (aal)、Postcentral_L (aal)、Medial Frontal Gyrus) Precentral Gyrus、Frontal_Mid_L (aal)、Cuneus。With regard to cognitive functioning, the mTBI group performed below the healthy controls on CWT-C and Digit span test.No significant difference is on BVRT、Moca and the rest of WAIS-RC performance. The positive correlation existed between the functional connectivity in the right middle frontal gyrus and right Inferior Frontal Gyru, Cerebellum Posterior Lobe and Digit span test。The negtive correlation was shown between the functional connectivity in the Cingulum_Post_R(aal) and left Inferior Frontal Gyrus and CWT-C, which indicated when patients can not do cognitive scale exam, doctors can judge their memory changed by functional connectivity and ALFF value.Conelusion:Our findings suggested that the abnormal spontaneous neuronal activity of these regions may be implicated in the underlying pathophysiology of mTBI.
