Objective: To investigate the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapyresponse on prognosis of patients with cervical cancer. Methods:Systematic searches of PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Knowledge, Google,CNKI database and VIP database were performed; The odds ratio (ORs)was evaluated by using use a fixed-effect or random-effect modelaccording to the heterogeneity between articles; RevMan.5.2was used forstatistical processing. Results: a total of14articles including1326patients was found, clinical response rate ranged from39.8%to97.3%(solid tumor was evaluated);while, two of the14articles pathologicalresponse rate were28.6%and27.6%, The ORs of2-year PFS/OS were4.67(95%CI3.35-6.77; Z=8.68P=0.00),4.39(95%CI2.53-7.61; Z=5.26P=0.00) respectively and the ORs of5-year PFS/OS were5.36(95%CI3.59-7.99; Z=8.23P=0.00),5.80(95%CI3.83-8.79; Z=8.30P=0.00) respectively. X2test and I2test showed that there was nosignificant heterogeneity of the included studies, funnel plot showed thatthere was no publication bias, by changing the effects model and theremoval of large samples for sensitivity analysis, suggesting that the stability of results. Conclusion: response to preoperative neoadjuvantchemotherapy can improve the long-term prognosis of cervical cancerpatients.
