Objective:To investigate the association of GNLY rs11127polymorphisms andHBV clearance in Chinese Han population.Methods:1. A total of633patients were enrolled in this study, containing390patients in the CLD (HBV-related chronic liver disease) group,172patientsin the SC (spontaneous clearance) group, and71subjects in the UE(unexposed to HBV) group.2. TaqMan probe method was used to investigate the genotype andallele distributions of GNLY rs11127in all groups.Results:1. The rs11127TT genotype showed a trend of being associated withchronic HBV infection in a dominant model (p=0.038, OR=1.513,95% CI=1.022-2.237), but lost the significance in logistic regression analysisadjusted for age and sex (p=0.093).2. Considering gender may be an important factor in HBV clearance, the frequency distribution of rs11127polymorphism was furtherdetermined after segregation on the basis of gender. In male patients, therisk of HBV chronic infection was strongly associated with GNLY rs11127TT genotype (pa=0.038, ORa=0.459,95%CIa=0.22-0.95) or T allele(pa=0.037, ORa=0.683,95%CIa=0.477-0.978) after age adjustment. In adominant model, the rs11127TT genotype still showed a significantcorrelation with HBV infection outcome (pa=0.042, ORa=1.77,95%CIa=1.020-3.077) after adjusting for age. Conclusions:Our results suggested that GNLY polymorphism might play animportant role in HBV clearance in male Chinese Han population.
