Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of autologousperipheral blood stem cells transplantation (APBSCT) for the treatment ofdiabetic foot (DF).Method stem cells were transplanted into13patients of diabetic footwho Volunteered to receive APBSCT.Every one of the patients receivedsubcutaneous injections of recombinant human granulocyte colonystimulating factor (rhG-CSF, Fremantle Jin)300ug/d for3-5days tomobilize stem cells before transplantation. Then use the Fresenius-Kabiblood cell separator in collecting peripheral blood stem cells(PBSCs). Thecollected stem cell suspension was injected into the limb muscles by thedistance of2cmx2cm. All of the Patients were followed-up at least3months after operation. Results The patients were evaluated in the third months aftertransplantation. the main manifestations, including lower limb pain, cold feeling, intermittent claudication, ankle brachial index (ABI),transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcP02), and skin temperature wereimproved significantly after APBSCT (P<0.01),The wound healing ratewas improved, but the change was not significant (P>0.05), CTangiography (CTA) results showed lower extremities in6patients had newcollateral vessel formation with different degrees. No adverse effects andcomplication specifically due to stem cell transplantation were observed. Conclusion APBSCT can increase blood flow of lower extremitiesin patients with ischemic diabetic foot,to promote limb formation newcollateral vessels,Raise wound healing rate and some patients receivedsalvage. APBSCT is a simple, safe and effective therapeutic approach fordiabetic foot.
