| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of electro-acupuncture treatment for women with stress urinary incontinence(SUI),and to improve people’s understanding of SUI.Method:This study selected42cases of female patients with stress urinary incontinence as the objects,who all met the inclusion criteria and came from the department of acupuncture rehabilitation and Urology in Jiangsu Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital during March2013to December2013. The42patients were randomly divided into two groups by the central randomization system.21cases were in the treatment group with electro-acupuncture, another21cases were in the control group,because of shedding lease during treatment,20cases actually with sham acupuncture. The patients in treatment group were given electroacupuncture deep needling bilateral Zhongliao and Huiyang points,while the control group patients were given sham acupuncture in bilateral Nonpoints which next to Zhongliao and Huiyang points apart1inch,three times a week,every other day for one time,each time for thirty minutes,for six consecutive weeks. Compared before and after treatment the amount of urine leakage,72hours level of urinary incontinence and urinary incontinence symptom score,then discussion on the clinical efficacy and safety of electro-acupuncture treatment of female SUI.Results:Electro-acupuncture treatment can significantly reduce the amount of urine leakage,72hours level of urinary incontinence and urinary incontinence symptom score of female SUI patients. The amount of urine leakage,72hours level of urinary incontinence and urinary incontinence symptom score in female SUI patients with sham acupuncture showed unobvious efficacy.The total effective rate of the treatment group was95.24%,of the control group was25.00%,and there was significant differences in results(P<0.05).The result showed that electro-acupuncture treatment for women with SUI has a significant therapeutic effect,rather than the placebo effect,and the all SUI patients had no adverse reactions.Conclusions:Effect of electro-acupuncture in treating the female SUI is obvious,siginificantly improve urinary incontinence symptoms and quality of life of the patients with SUI.Electro-acupuncture therapy can regulate the function of the nerve,adjust bladder function strengthen pelvic floor muscle and urethral sphincter function, finally control stress urinary incontinence.And the therapy has no adverse reactions,it is a simple,applicable and effective method that can be popularized in the treatment of SUI in clinical. |
