Object:The purpose of this research was to investigate the distribution of the main physical characteristics of elderly medicine metabolic syndrome and its related factors, prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome clinical elderly to provide some new ideas from the Chinese point of physical science.Study:A total of metabolic syndrome in elderly patients met diagnostic criteria for240cases, cases from the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital in March2013-2014February geriatrics, cardiology, endocrinology clinic and ward patients.Method:A questionnaire survey research methods, the patient met the inclusion criteria for issuing a questionnaire survey and brief description of the structure and fill, fill, or live Q&A on his behalf by the investigators completed by the patients themselves. Questionnaire (see Appendix) includes general condition of the patient (name, sex, age, BMI, diet, smoking history, alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle), past medical history, physical examination results (blood sugar, blood pressure, blood lipids, blood uric acid), and TCM syndromes determine physical determination, in line questionnaires were recovered for further statistical processing. The survey results are summarized and entered in an Excel table, using SPSS16.0software package for statistical analysis. Statistical methods included descriptive statistics and statistical inference:descriptive statistics as mean standard deviation (±sd) or proportions (%) indicated that more than one physical analysis of variance was used to compare between the mean pairwise t test was used to compare, p<0.05was considered statistically significant.Results:1.TCM constitution elderly patients with metabolic syndrome have a certain type characteristics, the main physical type of phlegm (36.3%) Qi deficiency (29.2%), yin deficiency (22.9%), blood stasis (20.1%), which is the most important phlegm physical type elderly metabolic syndrome.2.The metabolic syndrome in elderly syndromes common to Qi Deficiency Syndromes, Yin phlegm and blood stasis syndrome and resistance syndrome, among certain syndromes and the presence of a certain correlation constitution.3.Factors associated with physical distribution:On body weight, overweight patients are more at Qi deficiency, phlegm and damp-heat in the proportion of obese patients in a maximum proportion of heat quality, with the weight increasing heat gradually increased the proportion of quality; there sedentary lifestyles of older MS in blood stasis, qi deficiency higher proportion of MS patients with migraine diet elderly in the humid tropic quality and phlegm in the high proportion of mental deficiency in the quality of and blood stasis larger proportion; older MS abnormal metabolic component to hypertension prevalence was highest; age, history of smoking and drinking history for physical distribution meaningless. Conclusion:1.The main physical type of metabolic syndrome in elderly phlegm, qi, yin deficiency and blood stasis, phlegm which is the most important metabolic syndrome in elderly physical type.2.The metabolic syndrome in elderly syndromes common to Qi Deficiency Syndromes, Yin phlegm and blood stasis syndrome and resistance syndrome. Qi Deficiency patient’s physique is mainly qualitative and qi deficiency, yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome in patients with blood stasis constitution is mainly qualitative, phlegm resistance syndrome is mainly physical phlegm.3.Older MS prevalence increases with age and decrease the incidence of MS in elderly women more than older men.4.Diet and exercise habits, weight, physical medicine and occupational background of its distribution have a certain influence, age, smoking history, alcohol consumption had no effect on its physical distribution.
