Objective To investigate the expression of Toll-like receptor4(TLR4),Toll-like receptor9(TLR9) and nuclear factor-kappaB(NF-KB) in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) tissues and human normal lung tissues, and to explore their clinical significance. Methods The immunohistochemical SP method was used to examine the protein expressions of TLR4,TLR9and NF-κB in58cases of NSCLC and58cases of adjacent tissues of NSCLC. Their relevance with differentiation, TNM stage, and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC were statistically analyzed. Results The positive rates of TLR4,TLR9and NF-κB protein in NSCLC tissues were significantly higher than those of normal control(60.3%vs15.5%,55.2%vs6.9%and67.2%vs8.6%,P<0.05). TLR4,TLR9expression had a close relationship with differentiation of NSCLC (P<0.05). The expression of NF-κB in adenocarcinoma was stronger than that in squamous cell carcinoma (P<0.05). The expression of TLR4, TLR9was positively correlated with the expression of NF-κB (P<0.05).Conclusion TLR4,TLR9and NF-κB may play an important role in the progression and development of NSCLC.
