Improving Effect Of Tong Yuan Acupuncture Therapy On Seminal Quality In Male Infertility With Asthenospermia (The Type Of Kidney Essence Deficiency)

ObjectiveTo reserch the clinical effect of the Tong Yuan acupuncture in treating the male infertility with asthenospermia (the type of kidney essence deficiency) camparing with the treatment effect of Wuziyanzongwan pills. The Tong Yuan acupuncture was founded from the acupunture clinical experience of several decades by professor xin-sheng lai.MethodsTo observe the semen analysis and the self-assessment scale of clinical symptom as the evaluation index of the physiology. The subjects were collected from 60 cases of the male infertility with asthenospermia (the type of kidney essence deficiency) who met the diagnostic criteria and received treatment in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture outpatient department from April 2014 to March 2015, and these cases were randomly assigned to two groups.The treatment group had 30 cases with using Tong Yuan acupuncture, and the matched group also had 30 cases with using the Wuziyanzong pills. The period of treatment was 3 months. Each relevant data before and after treatment was analyzed using SPSS19.0 software.ResultsThe overall efficacy of the Tong yuan stitch group was higher than the matched group (P< 0.05)。 The rate of the sperm viability, the rank a, the rank a+b and the sperm density were statistically significant (P< 0.05)before and after treatment of two groups, suggesting that the treatment of two groups were effective. And the difference between the the Tong Yuan acupuncture group and the matched group in improving sperm density was not statistically significant (P>0.05). However, in improving of the rate of the sperm viability, the rate of the rank a and the rank a+b the Tong Yuan acupuncture group were superior to the control group(P<0.05). After the treatment, the clinical symptom integral and total score of two groups all have improved significantly compared with before (P<0.05), suggesting the treatment of two groups are effective. By camparing the clinical symptom integral and tolal score between the two groups, there are some differences between the two groups (P<0.05), and the improvements of Tong Yuan acupuncture group were better than that in the matched group, especially on the symptom of the week waist, sonitus, hearing loss, dizziness, tiredness(P<0.05). All of these explained that on the improvement of the week waist, sonitus, hearing loss, dizziness and tiredness symptom of the male infertility with asthenospermia (the type of kidney essence deficiency) the Tong Yuan acupuncture group were superior to the Wuziyanzong pills group. Besides, the improvements of curative effect on the symptoms of forgetfulness, hair loss, loose teeth between two groups were basically the same (P>0.05).ConclusionThe study showed that the Tong Yuan acupuncture could effectively improve the sperm density, the rate of the sperm viability, the rank a, the rank a+b, and the clinical symptoms of the male infertility with asthenospermia (the type of kidney essence deficiency).And the male infertility with asthenospermia was a complicated disease involving multiple organs. And the congenital factors (kidney deficiency) and acquired disposition (trauma, exogenous evil, improper diet, excessive sex, etc.) could cause the disease. The Tong Yuan acupuncture could obtain a better curative effect by adjusting the Conception Vessel and Governor Vessel in order to balance the Yin and Yang of zang-fu organs, and also could transfer the Promordial Qi below the umbilicus to the kidney, and could get involved in the regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary gonadal axis, and could boost sperm production, maturation and increase the vitality of the sperm for achieving the aim of fertility.
