ObjectivesFrom an investigation into the status of acute leukemia children’s Parents’ mental elasticity, social support and life quality and an analysis of the factors which influence their life quality, this paper is aimed to explore the correlation among these parents’ mental elasticity, social support and life quality, and intends to find the scientific basis.MethodsThis study is a descriptive one, by adopting the convenience sampling method. A questionnaire survey is carried out among 260 parents of acute leukemia children who are hospitalized in Pediatric Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University(Ward 3 of Pediatrics, Ward 5 Pediatrics) during the period from November 2014 to January 2015. The questionnarie includes SD-RISC, SSRS, WHOQOL-BREF of the Chinese version. Data are processed by using SPSS17.0 statistical software. The method of statistical description will be adopted to analyze the general data concerning the acute leukemia children and their parents, as well as the total scores of mental elasticity, social support and life quality and other dimensio ns; and One-Way ANOVA and T-test will be adopted to analyze the data of population Sociology’s impact on the acute leukemia children’s parents’ life quality; c orrelation will be adopted to discover the relations among the three factors of mental elasticity, social support and life quality; multiple regression analysis will be adopted to decide the main factors which impact acute leukemia children’s parents’ life quality. Results1.The total score of mental elasticity of acute leukemia children’s parents is 52.93±18.42, among which the score of tenacity dimension is 27.58±10.43, and the score of self-improvement dimension is 17.96±6.49, and the score of optimism dimension is 7.38±4.06. And the score of self-improvement dimension is the highest, and the score of the tenacity dimension is the lowest. Results of comparison of the total scores in menatal elasticity among different sociological population through T-test and ANOVA show that the differences among different parent-child relationship, different professions of parents are statistically significant.2.The total score of social support for the acute leukemia children’s parents is 36.96±7.22, among which the objective support scores 5.46±0.46, and the subjective support scores 24.51±4.77, and the score of the support availability is 6.97±1.64. The score of the objective support is the highest and the score of the support availability is the lowest.3.The total score of the life quality of the acute leukemia children’s parents is 44.04±6.81, among which the score in physiological domain gets 12.91±1.92, and the score in psychological domain is 10.86.36±2.07, and the score in social relationship domain is 12.91±1.92, and the score in environment domain is 10.39±2.36. By using the T test method and variance analysis to compare the total score of the life quality of different group of people, the result reveals that the differences among the total score of disease type, relationship with children and payment method is statistically significant(P<0.05).4. Except the psychological domain and support availability, optimism dimension and social relationship, the mental elasticity, social support and life quality are positively related to other domains.5.Taking the living quality as dependent variable, social support and each dimension of mental elasticity as independent variables, multiple stepwise regression analysis shows that the main factors impacting living quality are tenacity, objective support and the support availability. Conclusion1.The mental elasticity, social support and life quality of parents whose children suffer from acute leukemia are relatively low. As far as mental elasticity is concerned, the sociological population factors that affect the mental elasticity are the different parent-child relationship and different professions of parents. The main factors in terms of population sociology impacting their life quality include the disease type, their relations with the sickened children and payment method.2.Except the social relationship and optimism dimension, psychological domain and utilization of support domain, the mental elasticity and other related domains, social support and life quality are positve related to the other domains.3.Subjective support dimension in social support, the utilization of support and the tenacity.
