Part I Vessel wall image in intracranial aneurysmBackground and Objectives: This study aims to investigate the correlation between the vessel wall enhancement and the risk factors of aneurysm rupture using HR-MR vessel wall imaging technique, in order to reveal significant risk factor of aneurysm rupture. Methods:We reviewed 53 cases harbored 65 aneurysms in our case library from November 2013 to December 2014, which underwent HR-MR vessel wall imaging examination. The imaging data including T1WI-FSE, STIR, T2WI-FSE and T1WI+C scanning sequences were used to determine the enhancement status and obtain the risky morphological parameters of aneurysm(location of aneurysm, aneurysm size, AR, SR, bleb, wideneck). The risky clinical data including age, gender, smoking or not, hypertension, hyperlipemia, coronary heart disease, diabetes, multi-aneurysm or not were also obtained. The correlation between vessel wall enhancement and all the risk factors above were analyzed statistically afterwards. Results: Among all the 53 cases, 65 aneurysms in total, there were 24 aneurysms in male and 41 in female; age range was from 35 to 80, 56.70±8.99 on average. There were 9 patients with long history of smoking harboring 9 aneurysms and 22 patients with hypertension harboring 25 aneurysms. 9 patients with diabetes harbored 11 aneurysms and 16 patients with hyperlipemia harbored 18 aneurysms. Only 1 aneurysms were observed in a patient with coronary heart disease. 65 aneurysms were divided into rupture and unrupture group. All 4 aneurysms in rupture group were observed enhancement versus 21 aneurysms with enhancement in unrupture group. The enhanced rate was significantly different between rupture group and unrupture group(p=0.0187).There were no significant differences for the risky morphological parameter distribution including aneurysm location, aneurysm size, AR, SR, bleb, wide neck between rupture and unrupture group. There were also no significant correlation for the risky morphological parameter distribution and enhanced rate in unrupture group. However, the enhanced rate was significantly different between uruptured aneurysms with blebs and the ones without bleb(p=0.0115), also between uruptured aneurysms with SR...
