BackgroundAntithyroid drug is widely used to treat hyperthyroidism. But the choice of drugs, drug dosage and duration of treatment has no uniform standard.ObjectiveTo assess the impact of duration of the antythyroid drug to hyperthyroidism recurrence.RetrievalWe searched a total of seven database.Select DocumentsThe research of different duration of the antithyroid drug therapy to hyperthyroidism.Data CollectionTwo researchers were extracted data and integrated data, and then use software RevMa5.3 to analyze. The resultsTen studies involving 1269 cases of hyperthyroidism patients. All studies examined the impact of duration of the antythyroid drug to hyperthyroidism recurrence. The results show that the course of 6 to 12 months compared with 18 to 24 month period of treatment effect on recurrence was statistically significant, 18 to 24 months of treatment with 36 to 42 months treatment was statistically significant impact on relapse. The routine treatment planning and long-term low-dose ATD maintenance treatment effect on relapse compared, the results showed no statistical significance of younger than 35 years old, but for older than 35 years old have statistical significance. For long-term follow-up remission rate comparison shows that less than or equal to 24 months of treatment with more than 24 months of treatment has no statistical significance.ConclusionExtend the time ATD treatment of hyperthyroidism the relapse rate can be improved in the short term.
