Research purposesThis subject adopts a randomized control study. The clinical efficacy of the Equal heart and digest gall decoction the Both Qi-Yin Deficiency type diffuse Toxic goiter (Graves disease, GD) were observed to explore the advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) combined with Western medicine treatment of Graves’ disease, disease-oriented TCM clinical and scientific research to provide references.Research MethodsThe study included 65 cases of the Both Qi-Yin Deficiency type of Graves’ disease, all of them were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,34 cases in the experimental group and 31 cases in the control group. The control group received thiamazole tablets, and given metoprolol succinate sustained-release tablets, glucurolactone tablets, leucogen tablets and other symptomatic treatment if necessary. The experimental group’s treatment was based on the use of the control group and add the prescription of the Equal heart and Digest gall decoction. The treatment period was 4 weeks. And the symptoms, signs, thyroid function, thyroid antibody levels and liver function, blood and other indicators were observed. Application SPSS 19.0 software for analysis.Results1.Analysis on the baseline condition:There is no statistically significance between two groups before the treatment like age, sex, severity, duration, heart rate, symptom scores, serum thyroid hormone, serum TSH levels and serum thyroid antibodies levels.2. Analysis on the heart rate:From the first week of the treatment, two groups patients’heart rate decreased (P<0.05). The experimental group compared the control group showed a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) in the first week and second week. There is no significant difference (P>0.05) between two groups in the fourth week.3. Analysis on the symptom score:In the first week, second week and the fourth week, two groups patients’symptom score decreased (P<0.05). Compared to the control group, the experimental group showed advantage (P<0.05).4. Analysis on the thyroid hormone:After four weeks of treatment, both two groups’serum TT3, FT3, TT4, FT4 levels decreased (P<0.05), but most of them still higher than the normal value and there is no significant difference between them (P>0.05).5. Analysis on the thyroid antibodies:After four weeks of treatment, both two groups’serum TT3, FT3, TT4, FT4 levels decreased, but showed no statistically significance (P>0.05), and there is no significant difference between them (P>0.05).6. Analysis on the total efficiency:The total efficiency of the the experimental group (94.12%) was higher than that of the control group (74.19%), and showed a significant difference (P<0.05).ConclusionsThe Equal heart and digest gall decoction combine MMI is more effective than only MMI in improving the clinical symptom and signs. And they have no significant difference in adjusting the thyroid hormone and antibodies.
