Clinical Efficacy And Complement 5B-9 Complex Levels Of Qihuang Granule On Patients With Yin Deficiency Of Liver And Kidney Of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) With Dry Type

PurposeTo observe the efficacy and Complement 5b-9 Complex (C5b-9) levels of Qihuang Granule onpatients with yin deficiency of liver and kidney of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with dry type.Research MethodAccording to the research of the Second Nationgal Eyeground Illness Work Shop Forum of Eyeground Illness Group of Ophthamology community of C.M. A, the Senile Macular Degeneration Clinical Diagnosis Standard was made. We pick up 60 patients(120 eyes) diagnosed as yin deficiency of liver and kidney of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with dry type. It was required tha all the patients suffered from no other oculopathy illness or other disease, aged 50 to 75 years without gender limit.Sixty patients with dAMD (120 eyes) were randomly divided into treatment group (30 patients and 60 eyes) and control group (30 patients and 60 eyes), in which treatment group was with Qihuang Granule, while for control group was with Vitamin C. Fourteen weeks later, the clinical efficacy, the TCM syndrome and the Complement 5b-9 Complex of the two groups were compared.Results1. The visions of the two groups were improved after the treatment, the diff erence is statistically signinficant(P<0.01).The comparing difference bet ween the two groups was significant (P<0.01), and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.2. The integrals of TCM syndrome of the two groups were reduced after the treatment, the difference is statistically signinficant (P<0.05). The comparing difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.01), and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.3. drusen area of the experimental group was smaller than that of the control group (P<0.01) after treatment.4. The total effectiveness of experimental group was 68.3%, better than that of the control group with 33.33%(P<0.05).5. The Complement 5b-9 Complex of the two groups were reduce after the treatment, the difference is statistically signinficant(P<0.05). The comparing difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05), and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.GonelusionThe effect of Qihuang Granule for dAMD patients with yin deficiency of liver and kidney was positive, which could improve symptoms and related indicators significantly.
