| Objective:Behcet disease (BD) is a vasculitis of unknown etiology, characterized by oral or genital aphthosis and uveitis.Homocysteine (hcy) is an independent risk factor for venous and arterial thrombosis.the objective is to evaluate the association between homocysteine and thrombosis in Behcet Disease. Methods:The literatures were collected by searching pubmedã€EMBASEã€Cochrane Libraryã€web of science,CNKI about hcy was measured in adult BD patients with and without thrombosis.. The literatures were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed by RevMan5.2.0.Results: Finally 11 studies, for a total of 727 patients, were included..Meta-analysis showed that:Hyperhomocysteinemia was more prevalent in patients with thrombosis than in those without [OR=2.61,95%CI(1.46~4.67, P=0.001)].Mean levels of hcy were significantly higher in patients with thrombosis in comparison with patients without [MD=2.99,95% CI(1.81~4.16, P=0.00001)].Conclusion:Our results suggest that hyperhomocysteinemia may be increased the risk of thrombosis in BD patients. |
