| Objective:To observe uric acid levels in essential hypertension patients combined with impaired glucose tolerance affect arterial stiffness and carotid atherosclerosis.Methods:Select 513 cases with essential hypertension in this hosptial between December 2012 and September 2013, according to fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial serum glucose measurement, divide into 267 cases with normal glucose tolerance, impaired glucose tolerance group of 246 cases. By general information collection, detection and determination of serum markers related indicators of arterial stiffness, observe the effect of uric acid on arterial stiffness in two groups.Results:There are uric acid, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, apolipoprotein B, alkaline phosphatase, glycated hemoglobin Alc, the difference is statistically significant (t=-11.732;-9.657;-3.033; 2.934;-3.183;-4.531;-2.271;-5.093, P<0.05), IMT, baPWV and plaque detection rate was statistically significant (t/χ2=-3.999;-4.713; 6.907, P<0.05), but the left and right sides of IMT, baPWV was no significant difference (t=-3.604 and -3.729;-4.496 and -4.810, P>0.05). BaPWV stepwise multiple Logistic regression analysis show that uric acid is an independent risk factor for arterial stiffness (OR=1.115,95%CI1.084~1.146; OR=1.004, 95%CI1.000~1.007, P<0.05).Conclusion:Essential hypertension patients combined with impaired glucose tolerance should actively control their serum uric acid and serum glucose levels to reduce the extent of atherosclerosis and vascular damage, to prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular adverse events. |
