Abstract/Summary:
Objective:(1) To examine the reliability and validity of the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire(PDQ-4+) in Chinese recruits;(2) To analysis the histrionic personality disorder(HPD) characteristics of recruits;(3) To discuss the psychological and behavior characteristics of HPD in recruits. Methods: 1712 recruits completed PDQ-4+ in October 2013, and 260 recruits did the test-retest in 4 weeks interval. And 10345 recruits completed PDQ-4+, CTQ, EMBU and AAS to in October 2014. Results:(1) For the reliability of the scale, The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients, split coefficients, test-retest coefficients are 0.915, 0.916, 0.745 in total scale of PDQ-4+, and they are ranged from 0.493 to 0.675, 0.472 to 0.718, 0.423 to 0.654 in each subscale.(2) For the confirmatory factor analysis, the second-order factors model of personality disorders is fitted well(?2/df=7.896 、 GFI=0.957 、 AGFI=0.933 、 NFI=0.919 、 IFI=0.929 、TLI=0.906 、 CFI=0.929 、 RMSEA=0.067).(3) The total positive rate of personality disorders among 10345 recruits is 57.2%, and the positive rate of 12 personality disorders are ranged from 7.0% to 42.3%, which obsessive-compulsive personality disorder(OCPD) is the highest type(42.3%), followed by HPD(23%).(4) Different HPD scores of recruits with different nationalities, only child or not, different origins and different education levels are significantly different(Ps < 0.05).(5)The scores of CTQ in the HPD recruits are significantly lower than the controlled group(Ps < 0.05), and the scores of attachment close, attachment dependence, parental emotional warmth and understanding, mother’s excessive interference and protection are significantly higher than those in the controlled group(Ps < 0.05), there is no significant difference between HPD and controlled group in other aspects(Ps > 0.05).(6) The scores of physical abuse, emotional neglect, physical neglect and abuse are negatively correlated with HPD scores(r=-0.088,-0.229,-0.129,-0.196, Ps﹤0.05). And the scores of father’s emotional warmth and understanding, mother’s emotional warmth and understanding, mother’s excessive interference and protection, attachment close and attachment dependence are positively correlated with HPD scores. However, there is no correlation between HPD scores and other aspects(Ps > 0.05).(7) For the stepwise regression analysis, mother’s warmth and understanding, mother’s excessive interference and protection, attachment close and attachment dependence could positively predict HPD of recruits significantly, which could explain 32.9% of total variation. Conclusions:(1) The reliability and validity of PDQ-4+ are satisfied when applied to Chinese recruits.(2) 57.2% recruits have at least one type of personality disorder, and different demographic characteristic(such as different nationalities, only child or not, different origins and different education levels) recruits have different HPD scores.(3) Parenting style and adult attachment have a positive prediction to HPD of recruits.
