The Revision Of Family Environment Scale-chinese Version And Its Application In Histrionic Personality Propensity Recruits

Objective:(1)To examine the reliability and validity of the Family Environment Scale-Chinese Version(FES-CV)in Chinese recruits,and to revise the scale according to the characteristics of the recruits in order to provide an effective tool to evaluate the family environment characteristics of recruits;(2)To discuss the influence of family environment characteristics on histrionic personality propensity recruits.Methods:In 2014,1978 male recruits completed demography questionnaire and FES-CV by cluster sampling,and 500recruits did the test-retest in 2 weeks interval.Item analysis and factor analysis were used to screen the item of FES-CV in order to form Family Environment Scale-Chinese Recruits Version(FES-CRV).The structure validity was examined by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis.Internal consistency reliability(Cronbach’s alpha coefficients),split-half reliability and test-retest reliability were used to examine the reliability.(2)In order to explore the influence of family environment characteristics on histrionic personality propensity recruits,7721 male recruits were investigated with demography questionnaire,FES-CRV and Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire-4~+(PDQ-4~+).Descriptive statistics,t-test,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were also used to analyze the data.All data were input into SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 17.0.Results:(1)The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients and split-half reliability were ranged from 0.174 to 0.705,0.210 to 0.733 in each FES-CV subscale.The confirmatory factor analysis result of FES-CV showed that?~2/df,GFI,AGFI,IFI,CFI,RMSEA were 9.517,0.928,0.886,0.806,0.805,0.097 respectively.(2)Based on item analysis and factor analysis of data collected in 2014,45 items of FES-CV were removed.And the final FES-CRV was developed which including 8 subscales and 45 items.The confirmatory factor analysis result of FES-CRV showed that?~2/df,GFI,AGFI,IFI,CFI,RMSEA were 7.922,0.964,0.924,0.909,0.908,0.088 respectively.The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of each FES-CRV subscale are ranged from 0.563to 0.696,and test-retest coefficients after 2 weeks are ranged from 0.449 to0.623.(3)The detection rate of histrionic personality propensity in recruits is19.1%.The scores of histrionic personality propensity in recruits are lower than normal group in Cohesion,Expressiveness,Intellectual-Cultural Orientation,Active-Recreational Orientation and Organization,and higher in Conflict,Achievement Orientation and Control(Ps<0.05).For the stepwise regression analysis,Cohesion,Expressiveness,Conflict,Achievement Orientation,Intellectual-Cultural Orientation,Active-Recreational Orientation,Organization and Control could predict histrionic personality propensity of recruits significantly(F=89.74,R~2=0.087,P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)The reliability and validity of FES-CRV are satisfied when applied to Chinese recruits,and it can be used to evaluate the family environment characteristics of recruits.(2)The histrionic personality propensity recruit is in a relatively poor family environment compared with the control group,and family environment characteristics has a prediction to histrionic personality propensity of recruits.
