| Nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs are the first-line option of treatment of ankylosing spondylitis(AS), but the mechanism is still unclear. We dectect the serum levels of STAT3 in patients with AS before and after infliximab treatment, compared with meloxica treatment. And investigate the possible role of STAT3 in structural damage process of AS through analyzing the correlation between STAT3 and disease activity index of AS. O ur study found that the serum level of STAT3 in AS patients was significantly higher than the control group. In addition, the serum level of STAT3 was increased in AS patients after meloxica treatment, while there is no statistical significance in the infliximab treatment group. These observations demonstrated a novel interaction between STAT3 and the course of AS. STAT3 may play a key role in the meloxica treatment for the Ankylosing Spondylitis. |
