| Objective:To investigate the association between VKORC1 gene 1639G/A sin gle nucleotide polymorphism and Atrial Fibrillation Uygur and Han populations livi ng in Xinjiang.Methods:100 Uygur and 102 Han patients with AF and 103 Uygur and 111 Ha n subjects that have no AF were examined for VKORC1 gene 1639G/A polymorph ism using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Results:There was a statistical difference between Uygur AF group and Uygur co ntrol group in VKORC1 Gene 1639G/A polymorphism genotype frequency and alle le frequency(P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed the VKORC1 gene 163 9G/A was one of the independent risk factors for atrial fibrillation in the Uygur p opulation(OR=2.085,95%CI:1.067-4.072, P=0.031); There was no statistical differe nce between Han AF group and Han control group in VKORC1 Gene 1639G/A po lymorphism genotype frequency and allele frequency(P>0.05), Logistic regression a nalysis revealed no statistical difference too. There was a statistical difference betw een Uygur AF group and Han AF group in VKORC1 Gene 1639G/A polymorphis m genotype frequency and allele frequency(P<0.05).Conclusions:VKORC1 Gene 1639G/A is associated with atrial fibrillation in the Uygur population, but not associated with atrial fibrillation in the Han population. There is ethnic difference between Uygur and Han in VKORC1 gene 1639G/A pol ymorphic site. |
