Objective:To have a basic understanding towards current situation of emergency rescue knowledge of urban residents of Xinjiang by conducting survey,as well as residents’ attitude and training needs.In order to provide a substantive basis for Xinjiang urban residents awareness of emergency rescue knowledge, analyzing main factors that affect awareness rate of emergency rescue,find out weak points and effective solutions.Methods:Choosing 9 cities in Xinjiang as research zones, adopting random cluster sampling and stratified sampling,conduct survey to 2490 residents within chosen research areas. Get to know residents’ attitude and demand towards emergency rescue knowledge by making investigation and interviewing with residents and local Red cross societies.Epidate3.02 software was used to build the database and data entry, SPSS17.0 software was used for data analysis.Results:(1)The emergency awareness rate of XinJiang urban residents is 10.3%, the differences of awareness rate of four aspects of emergency rescue knowledge is of statistical significance (P<0.01), in which the disaster rescue awareness rate is the highest 27.8%, the cardiopulmonary resuscitation technology awareness rate is minimum 6.3%.(2) the awareness rate of residents of different age is of statistical significance (P<0.01), among them, age between 25-34 years old residents’ emergency rescue knowledge is higher than other age range, but cardiopulmonary resuscitation technique has no statistical significance and still at low level.(3) The differences of emergency rescue awareness rate between ethnic minorities and Han nationality is of statistical significance.(P<0.01).(4) the differences of emergency rescue knowledge between different educational background is of statistical significance (P <0.05), the higher education level, the higher the rate of awareness of emergency rescue knowledge. (5) the awareness rate differences between residents of different occupation has statistical significance (P<0.05). Cadres and self-employed people has higher rate than other occupations. (6) income and emergency rescue knowledge differences in some aspects is ofstatistical significance (P<0.05), in which the "common inJury treatment" and "disaster escape", high-income residents awareness rate higher than that of low income residents. (7)The differences of emergency rescue knowledge awareness rate in southern Xinjiang, Northern XinJiang and Urumqi city residents is of statisticalsignificance.(P <0.05). In which the Rate is higher in both northern Xinjiang and Urumqi city than that of South XinJiang.(8) the difference of emergency rescue knowledgeawareness rateof 9 cities is of statistical significance (P<0.01), in which Urumqi residents has the highest rate of awareness 12.2%, while Kashi and Kuche residentsthe lowest 7.2%.Conclusion:(1) The awareness rate of emergency rescue knowledge of urban residents in XinJiang is low, it is necessary to improve emergency rescueability. (2) Some crucial factors such as different cultural background, age, educational background, occupations and income situation need to be considered when carrying out residents emergency rescue training.(3)Put forth effort on both offering project and specialist when focusing on improving the awareness rate of some weak areas. (4) To strengthen the emergency rescue propaganda work by network, mobile phone application software, television, newspapers and other ways,in order to provide more learning environment for the residents (5) expand the emergency nurse team, strengthening cooperation among departments, make full use of all available resources to promote the popularization of emergency rescue work.
