Clinical Study On Curing Non-proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy With Jiawei Zhuyu Tang

Objective：To evaluate the efficiency of Jiawei Zhuyu Tang for treatment ofnon-proliferative diabetic retinopathy （NPDR） and investigate the mechanism ofHuoxuehuayu prescription.Methods：80patients with type2diabetes mellitus concurrent with non-proliferativediabetic retinopathy were clinically gathered and randomly divided into Chinese medicinegroup and western medicine group.The western medicine group use Calcium DobesilateCapsules as well as conventional oral or injection hypoglycemic drugs.The Chinesemedicine group use conventional oral or injection hypoglycemic drugs and Jiawei ZhuyuTang.Curative effects were observed objectively.The sight、fundus photography、fundusfluorescence angio-graphy、vascular endothelial growth factor、endothelin、interleukin-6and C reactive protein were detected before and after12week’s treatment.Results：①Two kinds of drugs can improve sight of NPDR patients，reduce heformation of retinopathy，prevent the progression.Chinese Medicine group is better thanWestern medicine group.②Two kinds of drugs can improve traditional Chinese medicinesymptoms.Chinese Medicine group is better than Western medicine group.③Two kinds ofdrugs can reduced IL-6、CRP of patients，and Chinese Medicine group is better thanWestern medicine group.So we guess the mechanism of Chinese medicine may played itsrole in relieving inflammationg of retinopathy.Conclusions：Jiawei Zhuyu Tang can increasethe vision of NPDR patients，improvethe retinopathy degree，prevent disease progression，and its mechanism may be related toimprovement of tiny blood vessel andreduce the inflammation.
