ObjectiveTo determine if CD47expression levels were also a prognostic factor in human lungcancer, we analyzed expression data from46postoperative patients with lung cancers(Ⅰ~Ⅲa).Methods46lung cancer patients(male29and female17, from34to76years old, average45.5years old) with the stage fromⅠto Ⅲa were collected. Before operation, all patientsreceived PET imaging and the expression results of CEA、NSE and CY21-1weremeasured. And we collected their postoperative pathological dates to analysis CD47expression on lung cancers by immunofluorescence. Then we studied the correlationbetween the semi quantitative of CD47values and tumor cell differentiation degree, postoperative pathological staging, the results of CEA、NSE and CY21-1,SUVmax,disease-free survival rate and overall survival outcome.ResultsThe expression of CD47had significant difference in different degree ofdifferentiation, pathological type, T stage, N stage between group. Among them, lowdifferentiation group> middle differentiation group> high differentiation group (P<0.01);squamous cell carcinoma was significantly lower than that of adenocarcinoma and smallcell lung cancer (P<0.01); T3staging was significantly higher than that in T1stage(P<0.05); the expression of N2staging was significantly higher than that of N0staging(P<0.05). The results of correlation analysis showed that the levels of CD47and CEA,CY21-1were positive correlation (r=0.630,0.741), which mean with the increasedexpression of CD47the levels of CEA and CY21-1increased too. And to the disease-freesurvival rate and overall survival outcome, the correlation came to be negative (r=-0.385), which mean the higher of CD47level the shorter of disease-free survival time and thelower of CD47level the longer of disease-free survival time. However, the correlationbetween the maximum levels of SUV, NSE and the level of CD47had no statisticalsignificance (P=0.509,0.562). Fitting survival analysis with the COX regression model,CD47is an risk factor on disease-free survival and overall survival outcomes, HR was1.306(1.062~1.606),1.340(1.126~1.595).ConclusionsThe expression level of CD47is an independent risk factor on patients’ disease-freesurvival and overall survival outcomes after surgery. Detecting the expression of CD47hasimportant clinical significance for predicting patients’ prognosis, and provide guidance tochoose the appropriate postoperative adjuvant therapy for patients.
