Background:Many prospective studies had proven, breast conserving surgery can be obtained with the traditional radical surgery the same survival rate, keep the life quality of patients with breast conserving surgery was significantly higher than that of patients with breast resection. How to cure tumor, but as far as possible to retain the breast shape is an important question, how to balance the cosmetic effect and the amount of tissue removed.Object:To evaluate the clinical and cosmetic outcome of patients with early breast cancer underwent oncoplastic techniques in breast conserving surgery.Method:Clinical data of183patients with breast cancer who underwent breast conserving surgery were analyzed retrospectively form January2011to December2013. Of which67patients undergoing oncoplastic techniques,116cases received traditional breast conserving surgery. The therapeutic effects were compared between them.Results:①Of the183surgeries,67were oncoplastic breast conserving surgery (36.6%), including round block mammoplasty in15, tennis racket mammaplasty in29, Omega-plasty in5, inverted-T mammaplasty in6, partial latissimus dorsi flap in6, local pedicled skin flap in4, and inferior pedicle mammaplasty in2.116patients traditional breast conserving surgery all received lumpectomy.②There were no significant differences in operation time, blood loss during surgery between the two groups (P>0.05).③The postoperative cosmetic outcomes, patients satisfaction in oncoplastic breast conserving surgery group were better than that in traditional breast conserving surgery group, the difference between the two groups reached statistical significance (P<0.05).④Follow up to April2014, no local recurrence and distant metastasis were detected. Conclusions:Oncoplastic techniques in the breast conservative therapy for early stage breast cancer is a safe and effective procedure, with lower incidence rate of postoperative complication, better postoperative cosmetic outcomes and highly patients satisfaction in the majority of patients.
