Objective:Comparison the treatment efficacy of intertrochanteric fractures in elderly between PFNA and DHS.Methods:Collected from February2011to October2011using the proximal femoral nail anti-rotation blade(PFNA) in the treatment of senile intertrochanteric fractures in70cases, compare with the47cases of using the dynamic hip screws (DHS) in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures in elderly from the data of existing literature, analysis the differences in the efficacy of two surgical methods.Result:The mean operative time of the70cases of patients was (80±14) minutes, average blood loss was (85±17) ml. The number of complications in70cases is15. According to Harris hip score, excellent in45cases, good in17cases, fair in5cases, poor in3cases, satisfaction rate is88.6%. The result of the47cases of patients treated with DHS in existing literature is:the mean operative time was (92±16) minutes, average blood loss was(104±23) ml. The number of complications in47cases is13. According to Harris hip score, excellent in25cases, good in11cases, fair in8cases, poor in3cases, satisfaction rate is76.6%. Conclusion:The efficacy of PFNA is significantly better than DHS in surgical treatment of intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly.
