ObjectiveWe collected32pyogenic liver abscess patients to analyze the relative clinical factors, test results, pathogens and the efficacy of different treatments methods, so that we could gain more details of the pyogenic liver.MethodsFrom1st July to31st December in2013,we collected the clinical data of32hospitalized patients with pyogenic liver abscess from infectious disease department of the first affiliated hospital, medical school, Zhejiang University. The patients were devided into three groups according to the different treatment methods, using simple antibiotics, antibiotic plus indwelling catheters and antibiotic plus puncture. The Kruskal-wallis and Mann-Whitney tests were performed for the stastical test and analysis to the clinical tests value of the patients in different groups, and the efficacy of the three different treatment methods was compared.Results32patients, aged55.8±13.4years, included There were21male (65.63%) and 11(34.38%) female.Fever, anorexia and abdominal pain are the main performance., Main accompanied diseases included diabetes mellitus (12cases,38%), biliary disease (9cases,28%) and hypertension (7cases,22%). Among them,17cases underwent pus culture, and9strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae;7cases underwent blood culture, and3strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae。Antibiotics plus catheter indwelling was more effective than antibiotics alone in lowering neutrophil count and fibrinogen, the difference had statistical meaning (P<0.05).ConclusionThe mainly identified pathogen of the pyogenic liver abscess was Klebsiella pneumonia in the patients from the the first affiliated hospital, medical school,Zhejiang University, and the pathogens showed highly sensitivity to the drug susceptibility tests of the carbapenems, compound preparation of penicillins or cephalosporin, and quinolones. By comparing of the three treatment methods, antibiotics alone, antibiotics plus catheter indwelling drainage and antibiotics plus liver puncture suction, we found that it contributed much to the recovery of the pyogenic liver patient by using the antibiotics while drainage or sucking the abscess.
