ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety between GN and GP regimen in the treatment of anthracycline and/or taxane-pretreated metastatic breast cancer, providing reference for eligible chemotherapy option after failure of anthracycline and/or taxane_treatment.MethodsFrom January2010to December2013,42patients with metastatic breast cancer, who had been previously treated with anthracyclines and/or taxanes were enrolled. They were treated with gemcitabine combined with vinorelbine or with cisplatin. Either treatment regimen was repeated every3weeks._The efficacy is evaluated every two cycles.ResultsThe overall response rate(ORR=CR+PR) of GN group was30.5%, disease control rate(DCR=CR+PR+SD) was78.3%,median time to progress(mTTP) was6months(95%CI4.6-7.3).In the GP group,ORR was33.3%,_DCR was77.8%,mTTP was5months(95%CI3.3-6.6). By subgroup analysis, the ORR of breast cancer with liver metastasis was7.7%in GN group, DCR was69.2%,In the GP group,_ORR was25.0%, DCR was75.0%.The ORR of breast cancer with lung metastasis was23.1%in GN group, DCR was76.9%, In the GP group,_ORR was11.1%,_DCR was66.7%.There was no statistical difference between the two group(P>0.05). No patient died due to chemotherapy. The main treatment-related toxicity in both groups was myelosuppression and gastrointestinal reactions.ConclusionGN and GP regimens are both effective in the treatment of anthracycline and/or taxane-pretreated metastatic breast cancer with acceptable toxicity. They both can be chosen for the treatment of anthracycline and/or taxane-pretreated metastatic breast cancer.
